In comparison with other techniques, Hyperspectral Imaging is a powerful method that can collect very dense spectral information about plants and other natural or man-made objects in a scene. In addition to color and shape, this useful information is utilized to accurately phenotype plants by evaluating their spectral features. Moreover, fusing hyperspectral imagery with LiDAR puts 3D point-clouds into play, so that plant classification can be performed with higher accuracy than ever before.
